Football Season Open
The first month of new academic year is gone, and on
the first Saturday of October the Sports Club of KSMU gave start to another, by
now the ninth championship of the University in mini-football among the teams
of the dormitories.
Mini-football or so-called futsal is a relatively new sport, but rapidly getting popular worldwide. Our fans are very pleased with the fact that Kazakhstan futsal isdeservedly one of the founders of new sport: the flagship of our championship “Kairat” mini-football club is one of the strongest clubs in the world, and Kazakhstan's national team, making their debut at the Continental Championship 2016 in Serbia, won the bronze medalsright away.
Football is justly considered Sport No. 1 in the University. No wonder that our University is the only in Karaganda, whose team plays in the regional football championship.
In the ninth championship took part 11 student teams: four teams representing the dormitories of the University and seven teams of students living in private apartments. Championship games are held on Saturdays and Sundays at the Gym No. 2 (32 Erubaev Street). We kindly invite all football lovers and fans to support their teams in the championship of the University.
