DNA extraction from plant cells via PCR analysis

At the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics of Karaganda State Medical University were conducted laboratory studies on practical mastering the technique of PCR for students of 4 course of “Biology” specialty.

In the course of laboratory classes the students acquired practical skills in DNA extraction from plant cells (corn cob). Once isolated, DNA amplification was carried out using “Tercyc” thermocycler. In SE-1 horizontal electrophoresis chamber the amplification products were visualized by agarose gel electrophoresis.
