On May 10, the KSMU rugby-team took part in the tournament on rugby-7, dedicated to celebration of the 70^th anniversary of Great Victory in Astana. 5 teams representing all regions of Kazakhstan took part in the tournament.The republican federation of rugby spares large attention to advancement and propaganda of this game in Kazakhstan.The main aim of tournaments conducted by federation, uniting of all clubs developing amateur rugby and provide of playing practice to the young teams.

It is great to know that for two years of participation of KSMU-team in republican tournaments our sportsmen passed the way from freshmen to one of favourites of competitions. So in Astana, the KSMU-team as bronze prizewinner of Cup МPE of RK, together with the rugby-players of professional club "Astana" it was been considered by main pretenders for the first place.

Our sportsmen beat the team of Akmola region 17 : 7, then they won rugby-players of Shakhtinsk 21 : 7 and in the finale game gave the real fight to the team of Astana.Long time the account in the final game was equal.Unfortunately, our captain Zangar Estaev was injured at the beginning of the second half and had to leave the field. More experienced Astana team to have won at the end of game 5 : 7.Our student Arlan Tuleov (2-044 GM) was named the Best player of the tournament by the organizers.
