On April 18 at the Department of Morphology and Physiology of NCJSC "KMU" held an international scientific student online conference "Modern aspects of the use of blood components in practical medicine" which was attended by students and teachers of Omsk State Medical University and NCJSC " Karaganda Medical University".

      The conference was chaired by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology of Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "Omsk State Medical University". Victor Akulinin and Galina Janaidarova, professor of the Department of Morphology and Physiology of NCJSC "KMU" were co-chairman of the conference.

      The speakers included a veteran of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology, Associate Professor Baranets Nina and Head of the Department of Organization of Medical Care of the Budgetary healthcare institution of the Omsk region BHIOR "Blood Center” Semenova Elena.

        Among the presentations at the conference, the following students' reports of NCJSC "KMU" caused the greatest interest: on immunocompetent blood cells: T- and B-lymphocytes (Kim D., 1019 group of GM, scientific supervisor Ass. Prof. Berikbayeva B. Kh., I place) ; about lymphocytopoiesis (Aitpay A., 1001 Pediatrics group, scientific adviser Associate Prof. Nurseytova K. T., II place); about embryonic hematopoiesis (Suleimenov A., 1004 group of Pediatrics, scientific advisor Associate Prof. Yesimova R.Zh., II place); about modern views on blood transfusion (Bazilev L., Kablashev A. 2023 group of GM, supervisor prof. Zhanaydarova G. U., III place).

          Magomedov Z. and Prodaiko G. (group 101 of the Medical Faculty of Omsk State Medical University) spoke about the structure of the erythrocyte membrane, the significance of this factor in blood transfusion (supervisor: assistant of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology of Omsk State Medical University Makarieva L. M.). Sadykova N., a student of the 173 group of the Omsk State Medical University Dental Faculty (supervisor: Associate Professor of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology of Omsk State Medical University Sergeeva E. D.) reported on the functions, structure and significance of blood as a tissue. The issues of bone marrow donation were touched upon in their report by the students of the 105th group of the Medical Faculty of the Omsk State Medical University Shaikhutdinova E. and Pugina I. (supervisor: Associate Professor of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology of the Omsk State Medical University Tsuskman I. G.)

A total of 22 oral and poster presentations were presented at the conference, which provoked scientific discussion and interest among those present. Students gained valuable experience in working with scientific literature for presentation at the conference. 

The results of the international conference were summarized by the professor of the department of histology, cytology and embryology of Omsk State Medical University Victor Alexandrovich Akulinin, who thanked the students of Kazakhstan and Omsk for participation in the work and expressed hope for further cooperation.
